Money Management Mentor

Hours: 17.5 hours per week
Salary: £10,449.39
Pension: Employer Contribution 7%
Location: Southport
Type of Contract: Fixed term to 31st October 2020

Better Off Finance is an innovative partnership funded via Building Better Opportunities via European Social Fund and the Big Lottery to undertake targeted community engagement and recruitment activities to reach out and connect with residents from the local authority areas of Halton, Knowsley, St Helens, Liverpool, Sefton and Wirral within the Liverpool City Region (LCR).
We are looking for a key worker to join our team to support individuals to improve their financial capability, resilience and confidence. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills and the ability to support and motivate individuals.

Help to Claim Adviser

Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £21,495.48
Pension: Employer Contribution 7%

Citizens Advice offers confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free. We give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem. We help with everything from money issues to problems at work, housing to consumer rights.
Universal Credit (UC) is the fastest growing advice issue for the Citizens Advice service and Local Citizens Advice offices everywhere and improving the support available to people making a claim is vital.

Citizens Advice is set to deliver a new service called “Universal Support: Help to Claim” which offers end-to-end support to help people make a new Universal Credit claim and be ready for when their first payment arrives.

We are looking for an adviser with good IT skills to support clients to make and complete their new Universal Credit claim, as well as a commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice Service.

You’ll have the ability to interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of the issues and empower clients, whilst maintaining structure and control of meetings

Generalist Adviser – maternity cover.

Location: Sefton (primarily based in Bootle)
Contract type: 31st March 2020: Maternity cover with the possibility of extension.
Salary: £13,440.74
Hours: 21 hours per week
Pension: 7% Employer contribution
Annual leave: 28 days plus bank holidays pro rata

We are looking for an experienced adviser to join our existing team of advisers, caseworkers and financial capability workers to help people in Sefton who seek our help with the problems they face, particularly with universal credit, other welfare benefits and debt.

The post holder will be expected to work in outreach such as Job centres as well as our own advice centres.

Living Well Sefton Development Mentor

Contract type: Permanent.
Salary: £20,431.01
Hours: 28 hours per week
Location: Sefton (primarily based in Bootle)
Pension: 7% Employer contribution
Annual leave: 28 days plus bank holidays pro rata

Living Well Sefton is a public health funded programme to ensure Sefton residents have access to a co-ordinated programme of health and social related activity, to enable communities to build independence and optimise health and wellbeing.

We are looking to recruit a Development Mentor to support local residents to improve their health and wellbeing. Specific interventions include mentors providing motivational support to achieve behaviour change, community health checks, community champions, weight management, financial inclusion and social prescribing.
