They have just over £35,000 available to:

  1. Support refugees, people seeking asylum and vulnerable migrants to feel safe in the wake of the Knowsley Suites attack on Friday 10 February 2023
  2. Myth bust and challenge harmful rhetoric/misinformation regarding refugees, people seeking asylum and vulnerable migrants, which may be circulating amongst communities in Liverpool
  3. Support refugees, people seeking asylum and vulnerable migrants to settle into life in Liverpool and to understand culture and life in the UK.

Methods of delivering these outcomes may include:

  • Education/Awareness raising
  • Engagement with parents/carers
  • Campaigning (namely social media and print – please consider accessibility as well as methods of widening reach such as use of appropriate influencers)
  • Wellbeing support for those living in hotels
  • Personal safety resources.

They anticipate receiving multiple proposals up to around £5,000 each. However, if you have an idea which can be fully spent by 31 March 2023 which is more than £5,000, please contact susan.cowell2@liverpool.gov.uk to discuss.

To submit your expression of interest, please complete this funding template. Please ensure you complete the sections highlighted yellow. Again, return this to susan.cowell2@liverpool.gov.uk by 4 pm on 28 February 2023.

Deadline for Submissions: 4 pm on Tuesday 28 February 2023.

Award of funding will be notified by close of play Wednesday 1 March 2023.

Please note:

The primary purpose of this grant funding is to cut and prevent crime, reduce re-offending and contribute to community safety. Due to the tight timeframe, please do not apply to cover salary or volunteer expenses. However, if staff time is required to deliver, please quote a one-off fee as part of ‘other’ on the project costs section of the funding form.

Payment will be made in arrears following 31 March upon completion of a short monitoring statement. Please note, payment to external agencies from Liverpool City Council take 30 days from receipt of invoice. By submitting a funding template as an expression of interest, you agree that you are able to deliver on your proposal before payment is received. Eligible expenditure is net of VAT recoverable by the Recipient from HM Revenue & Customs and gross of irrecoverable VAT. On agreement of funding, a full contract will be sent to you for you to sign agreeing to grant terms and conditions.
