Comics Youth CIC – Development Manager (Bid-Writer)

Contract: Temporary contract for x2 years in the first instance (potential to be extended by 1 year).
Term: Part time.
Salary: £26,000 (pro rata).
Hours per week: 30 hours.
Reporting to: Managing Director.
Location: Make CIC Hamilton Square/Homeworking.

Comics Youth CIC is an innovative non-profit that delivers comics-based literacy and wellbeing projects for disadvantaged children and young people aged 8-25 within Merseyside and the wider Knowsley Borough. The overall ethos of the organisation is to break down participation barriers for marginalised groups including looked after children, young LGBTQIA people, care leavers, young carers and young people experiencing complex mental ill-health within the Liverpool City Region, to make, create and publish comic books about salient community issues. Sessions are delivered within safe, inclusive, and indiscriminate community venues.

Job Description

The Development Manager will join Comics Youth CIC during an exciting time as the organisation seeks to grow and expand their business development, fundraising, and income generation plan. This an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, progressive, and enthusiastic team player with great bid writing skills to advance their career and their vital charitable work.

You will work with their MD to research and identify new fundraising opportunities from trusts, foundations, and commissioners and convert these into long-term business relationships. Your role will be pivotal in seeking to capture learning within Comics Youth CIC and help establish branch models of their work in Dundee, Manchester, and London.
