Comics Youth – Comics Declassified Project Coordinator

Comics Youth CIC is an innovative non-profit that delivers comics-based literacy and wellbeing projects for disadvantaged children and young people aged 8-25 within Merseyside and the wider Knowsley Borough. The overall ethos of the organisation is to break down participation barriers for marginalised groups including looked after children, LGBTQIA young people, global majority youth, care leavers, young carers and young people experiencing complex mental ill health within the Liverpool City Region to make, create and publish comic books about salient community issues. Sessions are delivered within safe, inclusive, and indiscriminate community venues.

Job Summary

The Comics Declassified Project Coordinator role is integral to the success of the Comics Declassified initiative, a transformative training and development program co-produced with the Comics Cultural Impact Collective (CCIC). The successful candidate will work across the core components of the program, supporting marginalised early-career creators aged 16–30 to overcome barriers and develop sustainable careers in the comics industry. The postholder will work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays, to meet the needs of participants.
