Deadline: 10 AM on Monday 20 January 2025.
Liverpool Public Health are inviting expressions of interest from motivated community organisations to offer access to blood pressure checks in their communities, to help prevent cardiovascular disease.
Cardiovascular disease is one of our biggest killers and rates of disease and people living with multiple health conditions are expected to increase significantly by 2040. There are an estimated 33,000 residents in the city who are unaware that they have high blood pressure, which if untreated can lead to heart attack and stroke. High blood pressure can be prevented and managed through a balanced healthy lifestyle, and can be effectively treated with medication.
Access to a simple blood pressure check is an opportunity for a health promoting conversation, and in most cases, will offer reassurance that blood pressure is in a normal range. It can also help to identify when something isn’t right, and an opportunity to connect that person with help and support from the NHS.
The offer:
- Full training will be provided to offer blood pressures checks and engaging people in health promoting conversations, along with ongoing mentoring and support from NHS professionals.
- The offer includes a FREE blood pressure device for every volunteer accepted onto the scheme. Places will be prioritised to the areas of the city with the highest rates of premature death from cardiovascular disease.
- Please note that this is a voluntary scheme and there is no contract value or minimum duration attached to this opportunity.
How to Apply:
You will need to complete the form and submit your answers to the 3 simple questions to help them allocate places.
