Compass Counselling was founded in Liverpool in 1978, committed to providing affordable, professional and accessible counselling to local adults. In addition to working with individuals, it runs a number of courses, including anger management, and offers work-place support.
Compass is currently recruiting trustees who share its commitment to making its services widely available. Applications for those who have benefited from the services would be very welcome. In addition, like most voluntary agencies, Compass is facing a time of reduced income; it needs, therefore, trustees with accounting or finance skills to help the organisation to manage its funds wisely.
Trustees meet formally every six to eight weeks, generally in the late afternoon or early evening. In addition, it is expected that every trustee will take an active interest in the work of the agency and be prepared to use her or his particular skills to support the staff and counsellors and promote good governance.
