We are a charity based in Liverpool providing high quality counselling services and training to the Merseyside and Wirral community for the past 40 years. We are a proactive service offering a number of targeted projects and commissioned work in addition to our core work of providing accessible counselling to adults across Liverpool and Merseyside.
We are delighted to have been granted funding to enable Compass to extend our provision to include counselling via video link to further support the mental health of the local community at this time. This funding from the Coronavirus Support Fund, distributed by the National Lottery Community Fund includes specialist supervision support for our staff and volunteers who are new to this way of working. It also includes funding to provide our volunteer counsellors with access to a facilitated support group to ensure they can share their experiences with their peers in a safe environment and maximise self care as we move to this new area. We are extremely grateful to the government for making this possible.
We want to build on our excellent reputation and demonstrable impact and effectiveness in our face to face work to incorporate the same high standard of remote working by recruiting the following sessional workers.
This sessional work is to provide a regular facilitated support group, designed to support counsellors within Compass as they move into this new area of service provision. This is designed to help maximise peer support and self care through an experienced facilitator who can offer an online group to help counsellors to develop their skills, confidence and self care through this new phase.
As this is a specialised role we ask for applications via CV with covering letter. Please include in the covering letter your regular availability to hold this group and your hourly rate. Please also detail your experience and training in this specialised area.
