Up to 15 companies will be selected to receive up to £150,000 each in a new transport accessibility competition. The competition is open to organisations of any size, including academia, Research and Technology Organisations (RTO), industry, charities, central and local government etc.
Connected Places Catapult, the UK’s innovation accelerator for cities, transport, and place leadership, today announced that applications are open for the Scaling Innovation Programme. The programme is led by the National Centre for Accessible Transport (ncat) and delivered by the Catapult.
The programme is inviting applications from innovative firms with novel solutions to help disabled people navigate streets and use public transport more easily.
Up to 15 SMEs (small- to medium-sized enterprises) will be selected to access funding of up to £150,000 each to develop their innovations aimed at tackling barriers that have been identified through research and feedback from disabled communities. Alongside the funding, they will also receive bespoke business support from specialists at the Catapult.
