Could you be a Firefighter? Have a go or you’ll never know!

Have you got what it takes? Do you have courage, compassion and integrity? If so, join the Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service at one of their firefighter ‘Have a Go’ days on Saturday 4 or Wednesday 8 December 2021.

You can try some of the physical assessments they use as part of the firefighter selection process and receive guidance from their Physical Training Instructors on how to improve your fitness and strength and how to prepare yourself for the selection process. You can meet current Firefighters and find out if a career as a Firefighter is for you.

As a Firefighter, you will do so much more than putting out fires and rescuing people from road traffic collisions. You will also engage with the community, educate people and businesses and promote fire safety. No two days will ever be the same.

The role of a Firefighter is a career, not just a job. Throughout your career, you will have many opportunities to shape your future, potentially progressing up the career ladder, or you may wish to specialise in a specific area with the opportunity to gain professional qualifications throughout your career.

If you would like to attend one of the ‘Have a Go’ events or would like further information on the role of a Firefighter, or the recruitment process, please do not hesitate to contact Liz Inman from their Recruitment Team on 0151 296 4561 or email recruitment@merseyfire.gov.uk.
