COVID-19: Guidance for the safe use of multi-purpose community facilities

The UK government has updated its guidance for those managing community centres, village halls and other community facilities, on safely re-opening multi-purpose buildings.

The communal nature of community centres means that they are places where coronavirus could spread. As such, those running these spaces must stay up-to-date with the latest safety guidance.

This guidance, first published at the end of June 2020, is being updated as restrictions are lifted an new guidance is produced. It was last updated on 15 August 2020. If it applies to you and you haven’t read through it since then please do.

Amongst other things it provides guidance on:

  • a range of different activities that can take place in community spaces
  • the responsibility of employers whose employees work in community centres

Read the guidance for the safe use of multi-purpose community facilities on the government website.
