Crisis Skylight Merseyside Vacancy: Volunteer Coordinator

Salary £30,320 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work will be required

Contract: Temporary (maternity cover)

Crisis is currently recruiting for a Volunteer Coordinator to develop a local volunteer strategy, in line with that national Volunteer and Member Involvement Strategies, ensuring the promotion of volunteering in all aspects of Crisis Skylight’s work, including direct services for members, raising the Skylight’s profile, local campaigns, fundraising and social enterprises.

You will be responsible for managing, developing and monitoring volunteer programmes, ensuring that volunteers have the best of experiences. You will work with the national Volunteer Manager in the implementation of the Crisis Volunteering Strategy and Business Plan.

The ideal candidate will have experience of coordinating volunteers and an understanding of volunteers’ motivations and the benefits they bring to Crisis. You will also have the ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues, volunteers and external partners and confident in providing advice and guidance to others around policy, procedure and good practice.

A satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service is required for this role. Crisis Skylight also works with young people aged 16 and 17 and so the DBS check will establish the successful applicant’s suitability to work with children, as well as vulnerable adults.
