Hosted by Activity Alliance & The Richmond Group of Charities | 11 AM – 12 PM on Thursday 28 September 2023 | Online
Activity Alliance and The Richmond Group of Charities are working together to deliver this online event.
Bringing leaders together to discuss ways to reduce barriers for disabled people and people with long-term health conditions in activity.
Activity Alliance’s Annual Activity and Disability Survey 22-23 showed that healthcare professionals play a key role. That is in supporting disabled people and people with long-term health conditions to improve their physical health and overcome fears about risk. It will focus on how to build trust between healthcare professionals and their patients when talking about movement and activity. It will include examples that are based in practice and had a positive impact.
Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is an approach to behaviour change. It uses the many day-to-day interactions that organisations and people have with other people to support them to make positive changes to their physical and mental health and wellbeing. MECC helps to increase consistent and concise healthy lifestyle information, as well as engaging people in conversations about their health.
