The 12th International Conference on Nightlife, Substance Use and Related Health Issues will take place in Liverpool this November. It will be held at The Spine in the heart of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter.
Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) are founding partners of Club Health, and in collaboration with Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership (MVRP) and Night Time Economy Solutions, will host the event in Liverpool, a city is renowned for its vibrate and diverse nightlife, attracting tourists from across the UK and globally.
Across Liverpool City Region, a proactive approach to promoting healthy nightlife settings is already a key part of organisational, partnership and community strategies and approaches. This is something the city region can be proud of, and Club Health 2023 will allow such developments to be showcased to an international audience who can experience first-hand the local interventions to ensure nightlife users have an enjoyable and safe night out.
The conference will focus on several key themes addressing current and emerging issues and envisioning the future of healthy nightlife at local to international levels.
- DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION – making nightlife safer and more equitable.
- DRINK, DRUGS AND RELATED HEALTH BEHAVIOURS – preventing and mitigating harm.
- VIOLENCE – preventing and responding to violence against women and girls, sexual violence, exploitation and terrorism.
- MENTAL HEALTH AND NIGHTLIFE – promoting and protecting consumers and those who work at night.
- DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY – creating connections and protecting health through innovation.
The conference will include plenary and parallel session presentations and workshops, posters and other interactive sessions (including an art exhibition) from experts covering policy, practice, lived experience and academia.
