After the seed sowing of spring, the sun and rain spurred growth of the summer, and the fruitful harvest of autumn, it’s time to gather one last time for the year and enjoy the contemplative stillness of winter. Join Food for Real Film Festival, marking the shortest day with food-filled fun.
Sunrise Breakfast
Venue: Under the big oak tree in Princes Park, near Woodhenge, by Devonshire Road/Belvedere Road gate
Time: 8 – 10am (dawn at 8.26am)
Come out early to enjoy a healthy breakfast cooked over the fire.
Dawn Yoga

A solstice morning stretch. Bring a mat and a blanket, and wrap up warm. Everyone is welcome. No need to book – just turn up.
Family Wild Food Walk

Time: 9 – 10am
Bring the little ones out for a winter solstice morning walk to find food in the park. Wrap up warm and wear wellies. Walk will happen whatever the weather! Everyone is welcome. No need to book – just turn up.
Solstice Sunset Get-together
Venue: Grapes Community Food Garden, Windsor Street, Liverpool, L8 1XE (next door to Toxteth TV)
Time: 3 – 7pm (sunset 3.55pm)
Come to warm yourself by the solstice fire on the shortest day of the year. Bring stories, songs and a blanket. Tasty food made by the Women’s Cooking Group, hot chestnuts, spiced apple, fire-roasted veg. Raffle and tombola, plus chutney, jam and seeds for sale. Everyone is welcome.
