Title: GET INFORMED – Social Investment for Boards
Date & Time: 11am-2pm Wednesday 5 December 2018
Venue: DWF, 5 St Paul's Square, Old Hall Street, Liverpool, L3 9AE
To help celebrate #UKCharityWeek and the amazing work charity trustees do all year round, Liverpool CVS and Sefton CVS are excited to host GET INFORMED – Social Investment for Boards as it travels across the UK including Liverpool.
There are a few remaining spaces for this event, so book now to not miss out!
GET INFORMED is a joint initiative led by Big Society Capital, which provides free practical support and guidance including mentoring for charity trustees to better understand the opportunities and risks of social investment.
This event is the perfect opportunity for Trustees and staff to:
- Get your organisation into the national conversation about social impact and #makingadifference.
- Get informed about social investment options from other trustees who’ve already been supported to improve their future sustainability.
- Get a mentor to help your board and management team explore the potential for your charity to secure social finance. The event will be promoting a FREE mentoring scheme where you can receive support to develop your organsation and project to help it grow.
- Get FREE lunch and meet other local groups you could learn from and work with.
We really want to use the event to highlight the valuable work that charities do. As part of this, we’ll be asking each organisation to write on our #UKCharityWeek board how their charity is making a difference. We’ll also be asking trustees to share why they’re a trustee. We’ll be taking photos of these (with permission) and plan to share these on ours and Big Society Capital’s social media channels.
Partners of GET INFORMED include: Reach Volunteering, CASS Business School, Trustees Unlimited, Association of Chairs, the Honorary Treasurers Forum and the Charity Commission.
