Identifying and Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

Event Date: 08 March 2018

Thursday 8 March 2018, 8.45-11.15am – Haydock Park Racecourse, Newton-Le-Willows, WA12 0HQ.

Media coverage in recent months has highlighted that harassment is still very much a live issue, surrounded by misconceptions and a lack of understanding of how instances should be handled in the workplace. It can seem very daunting to know the correct process and steps to take when faced with any concerns or grievances relating to harassment.

As this issue has been brought into the spotlight, managers, HR professionals and business owners need more than ever to protect their business from the cost of harassment claims and, ensure that they handle a situation correctly to ensure the culture and employee welfare is not adversely affected.

This breakfast seminar will consist of Philip Richardson, Head of Employment at Stephensons Solicitors LLP, who will help clarify the legal definition of harassment and the common issues arising out of harassment in the workplace. He will provide a top level view of what is best practice to help ensure you protect your business and comply with the law. Peter Waller-Flynn from Privilege HR will then outline some scenarios, focusing on sexual harassment in the workplace, so delegates can practically apply what they have learned to each scenario. Following this, Privilege HR will speak about culture in the workplace and HR in practice.
