Identity Strategies of Young People Living in Multicultural Areas Conference

Monday 12 June 2017, 1-4pm – The Bluecoat, School Lane, Liverpool, L1 3BX.

100 young people from across Europe have been involved in a project exploring identity strategies in multicultural societies and they have produced  short videos to showcase the results of their research.

The aim of this conference is to:

  • Learn about young people living in multicultural societies
  • Share research results and methodologies
  • Create and expand innovative networks
  • Strengthen the capacity of youth services

The conference is for youth centres and youth workers, organisations and professionals working in multicultural contexts,  universities, students, local policy-makers and young people.

Introductions by:

  • Nicola Daley, MA in EU Studies, CEO, Merseyside Expanding Horizons
  • Dr. Zana Vathi, Reader in Social Sciences, Edge Hill University
  • Anna Bellan, MA in Sociology, Progr. Manager, Merseyside Expanding Horizons

The young people involved have been trained in video making. Their short videos will be introduced by Tristan Brady-Jacobs, film/multi-media tutor.

Lunch on arrival and networking with coffee at 4pm, provided by Merseyside Expanding Horizons.
