The Local Government Association (LGA) has published ‘The lives we want to lead’ a green paper for adult social care & wellbeing and launched a nationwide consultation to kick-start a desperately-needed debate on how to pay for adult social care and rescue the services caring for older and disabled people from collapse (consultation period 31st July – 26th Sept).
In response to the LGA paper LCVS is facilitating a consultation session to gather local input to inform the final paper.
You are invited to participate in a focus group consultation which aims to capture views of people who use care and health services and their carers, people who are experts on various elements of services, and people who have no knowledge of the system at all.
12 – 2.30 pm Wed 19th Sep – LCVS – Conference Room
The session will follow on from the Welfare and Well-being Organisations network meeting, after a short break for lunch (lunch provided). Places are limited and we ask that you book onto this session – please email paula.atherton@lcvs.org.uk
The LGA green paper is only a starting point to build momentum for a debate across the country about how to fund the care we want to see in all our communities and we would strongly recommend that you feed into this debate by attending the session or directly online.
