This year marks the 100th anniversary of the vote first being granted to (certain) women, paving the way for universal suffrage 10 years later.
Feminism can’t reach its goals without advocating for and lifting up the most marginalized voices. In the words of poet Emma Lazarus, “Until we are all free, we are none of us free.”
Moving On With Life & Learning (MOWLL) proudly presents the amazing artwork that a group of women have achieved. ‘The Woman Behind The Face’ explores themes of self-identity, womanhood and self-confidence.
And in a society determined to break down marginalized people physically, mentally, and economically, the importance of self-confidence and a positive self-image can never be understated.
Come experience this exhibition at Arts Hub 47 on Lark Lane. Throughout the week MOWLL will be hosting mini-workshops led by those who have contributed to the exhibition.
