Hosted by North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) | Thursday 26 October 2023 from 1 – 4 PM | PAL Multicultural Centre, 68A Mulgrave Street, Liverpool L8 2TF
People living and working in Merseyside are invited by North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) to share their views and experiences of their 999 emergency ambulance service, patient transport service (PTS) and NHS 111 service as part of a community conversation event.
Whether you’re an interested member of the public, NHS professional, carer, patient, or healthcare champion, they want to listen to and learn from you. They are hosting a series of events across the five counties of the North West (Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cumbria and Lancashire) to meet and talk to people who use their services.
Their determined staff continue to care compassionately for Merseyside’s residents whilst the NHS faces ongoing challenges, particularly with hospital handover delays. They have seen how in recent times, their healthcare needs have changed and, as both an emergency service and an NHS trust, they’re looking at how they can adapt and improve.
With this in mind, they are checking in with people in our communities to discuss how effectively they deliver their 999, PTS and 111 services, ensuring they have the right resources in the right place at the right time, to perform to the high standards their patients expect.
Who is it for?
The event is for you if:
- You are interested in the ambulance service or the NHS
- You have used any of NWAS’ services (999, PTS and 111)
- You champion health and care in your community
- You interact with their services as part of your job or voluntary role
- You are willing to share your views and listen to other people.
What to expect
During the event, you will hear how we help thousands of patients who need urgent and emergency care every day and what to expect as the NHS heads into winter and beyond. You will help them to understand what’s important to people in your area by sharing your views and experiences in fun and interactive activities. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions to frontline staff and senior leaders.
Free lunch and refreshments will be provided for all guests.
After the event, they will collect and analyse all of the experiences shared which will be used to help to improve care for people in your community, just like you.
