Ricasso Art Exhibition and Cabaret

Ricky Tomlinson has dubbed himself as ‘The Worst Artist In The World’ and has taken on the new persona of ‘Ricasso’. The star of TV’s The Royle Family Will be exhibiting and selling his work for the first time at the Florrie.

As well as the chance to grab yourself one of the 100 pieces of art created by ‘Ricasso’, the night will include a cabaret show featuring both Ricky and Crissy Rock.

Talking to the Echo about the event, ‘Ricasso’ explained: “I’m staging the Ricasso Art Exhibition and Sale at The Florrie because I want to raise about £2,000 to help improve the acoustics of its Grand Hall. I’ve already bought some speakers and microphones, but this money will pay for things like heavy drapes to help soundproof the room. I love the place and it does a lot of good work in the community.”

Ricky told the Echo that he is expecting famous friends including Jimmy McGovern, Sue Johnston and Colin McKeown to attend the sale and he is also hoping Toxteth-born Connor McIntyre (Coronation Street’s Pat Phelan) will be there.
