Sankofa Project Launch: Activism and Archives

Event Date: 28 January 2017

Saturday 28 January 2017, 1-4pm – Dr Martin Luther King Jnr Building, Albert Dock, Liverpool, L3 4AQ.

The Sankofa project, funded by Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund and in partnership with Bristol Museums Galleries and Archives, is a project focusing on Black social history within National Museums Liverpool’s collections and beyond. The aims of the project are to work with community groups to support them with caring for their existing archives and make them more accessible, support individuals with resources, and to encourage everyone to share their objects, memories and photographs relating to Liverpool’s Black heritage.

This first Sankofa event, titled Activism and Archives, encourages visitors to bring along material relating to activism in Liverpool.
