Everton in the Community – Stock Assistant – Community Food Pantry

Job Description

They now have an opportunity for a part-time Stock Assistant to join the team supporting with their fantastic Everton in the Community Food Pantry. This role will act as a key support function to their weekly Blue Base Community Pantry. Their Stock Assistant will ensure that their food storage container is well stocked and organised each week by receiving, unpacking, and organising food deliveries; collecting surplus food from a variety of supermarkets and external partners; and ensuring that the storage container is well-organised for the Pantry.

Lastly, this role will work alongside their Blue Family Coordinator to support crisis referrals received by external organisations. This support will include, but will not be limited to completing, and delivering essential food shops and other essential items (i.e., furniture) to families living in crisis across Merseyside.

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Recording weekly stock levels of each item and informing the Blue Family Coordinator.
  • Ensuring that stock is regularly rotated, with the earliest use-by dates at the front.
  • Removing any goods from the container that are past their sell-by date.
  • Demonstrating high levels of food hygiene at all times.
  • Be able to travel independently across the Liverpool City Region.

Other key Knowledge and Skills will include:

  • Good interpersonal skills to build relationships with existing staff members, participants, and key external partners
  • Be physically capable of heavy lifting
  • Clean, full UK driving license
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene (or willingness to work towards)
  • Manual Handling Certificate (or willingness to work towards)
  • Relevant Health & Safety Qualification (or willingness to work towards).
