Contract: Trusteeships run for a 3-year term for a maximum of two terms.
Hours: Approximately 100 hours per year.
Reporting to: Chair of the Board and CEO of FACT Liverpool.
Location: Mostly remote working, with occasional in-person attendance at Board meetings at FACT Liverpool, 88 Wood Street, Liverpool L1 4DQ.

FACT Liverpool is the UK’s leading organisation for the support and exhibition of art and film that explores new media and digital culture. The award-winning FACT centre opened in 2003 in the Ropewalks area of Liverpool, a hub for independent shops, restaurants, bars, nightlife and galleries. The FACT centre houses three art galleries, four cinema screens, a lab for learning and experimentation, a cafe, and a bar. Each year they welcome 250,000 visitors to their building, and collaborate with over 10,000 adults and young people through their Learning Programme, which they deliver in partnership with schools and community organisations across the Liverpool City Region.

Job Description

FACT Liverpool is looking to appoint a voluntary trustee (unpaid) with experience in finance to provide advice, scrutiny and support to the charity. They seek someone who can demonstrate a wholehearted commitment to the values and mission of FACT Liverpool and who will bring sound independent financial judgement, strategic vision, and a familiarity with charity accounting to their Board. You will join the Board of Trustees during an exciting phase of development and artistic vision, as they work towards the proposed integration of the whole building as one organisation by 2028.

You will help to ensure that the Board fulfils its financial duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of FACT Liverpool, in compliance with charity and company law and any other relevant legislation.
