In Spring 2024, as part of their development of the old changing rooms building (formerly the Estate’s animal husbandry building) into a Therapy and Wellbeing Centre, they are embarking on a National Lottery Heritage Fund project to find out more about the park’s past, of which little is documented. The project will delve into the past of the greenspace at Sudley throughout its life, including the development of the walled garden as an ornamental showcase for the colonialist botanical acquisitions of the Holt family of shipping merchants.

They want to bring together a group of volunteer history detectives to help research the history of the garden and changing rooms building. The group will meet weekly on Thursdays from 1 – 4 PM, at various locations around the city, from 21 March – 9 May 2024 inclusive.
