Halton & St Helens VCA – Social Action Lead – St Helens

Salary: £ 10,417 per annum.
Hours per week: 14 hours.
Location: St Helens, Merseyside.

Halton & St Helens Voluntary and Community Action (VCA) provides advice, information and development support services to voluntary, community, not-for-profit and faith organisations and volunteers in the boroughs of St Helens and Halton. They are passionate about encouraging local people to make changes for good in their communities and helping them find the right support or service that can improve their lives for the better or helping develop a new solution.

Job Summary

This role will support their work with Cheshire & Merseyside Cancer Alliance. With full training and support, you will be expected to support and advise VCSE groups in St Helens to deliver engagement and activities to raise awareness of cancer in targeted communities and to encourage early detection and diagnosis of cancer. You will also be involved in helping to build and maintain a bank of good practice guides and tools designed to support organisations.

They are not necessarily looking for an experienced development worker. They are looking for someone who cares about the voluntary sector and supporting people and who is conscientious, passionate, has a positive attitude and is ready to learn.
