Halton & St Helens VCA Vacancies

Halton & St Helens Voluntary Community Action are looking for new team members for a variety of roles working in one or both of their boroughs. They are passionate about encouraging local people to make changes for good in their communities and helping them find the right support or service that can improve their lives for the better or helping develop a new solution.

Our communities are still recovering from the effects of the pandemic with local organisations helping people through the cost of living crisis and other issues or crisis that are preventing them from living better lives.

Community Connector

  • St Helens
  • 18 hours a week
  • £12,879 per annum

In this role you will be part of a wider team supporting local communities and organisations across their Town Centre, South, West and Central areas. With a passion for making a difference in local neighbourhoods, you will be helping local people and organisations to create and develop services and activities to benefit their local areas.

Mental Health Care Navigator

  • St Helens
  • 36 hours a week
  • £24,657 per annum

In this role you will be helping people who have needed support from inpatient and community mental health services to access groups and activities in the community. Working closely with the Mental Health Alliance Worker and the wider VCA team, you will support individuals in their journey to good mental health.

Mental Health Alliance Link Worker

  • St Helens
  • 36 hours a week
  • £24,657 per annum

You will be working with and supporting their existing Mental Health Alliance – enabling groups to be accessible and sustainable. You will also have a role in helping identify gaps and supporting the development of new services of mental Health Support providers within the VCSE sector.

  • 36 hours a week
  • £24,657 per annum

Social Action Lead (Cheshire & Merseyside Cancer Alliance)

  • 28 hours a week
  • £20,034 per annum

With full training and support, you will be expected to support and advise VCSE groups in Halton & St Helens to deliver engagement and activities to raise awareness of cancer in targeted communities and to encourage early detection and diagnosis of cancer. You will also be involved in helping to build and maintain a bank of good practice guides and tools designed to support organisations. They are not necessarily looking for an experienced development worker. They are looking for someone who cares about the voluntary sector and supporting people and who is conscientious, passionate, has a positive attitude and is ready to learn.
