Healthwatch Liverpool Are Recruiting

Healthwatch Liverpool is the independent champion for people using local health and social care services. The organisation listens to what people like about services and what could be improved, and shares these views with those with the power to make change happen.

Healthwatch Liverpool is currently recruiting to the following job roles:

Volunteer and Engagement Officer

Salary: £23,770 per annum
Hours: 35 hours a week, including occasional evening and weekend work
Contract: Fixed-term until 31 March 2020, reviewed subject to continued funding

Volunteers play an important part in Healthwatch Liverpool activities. For many people you will be the first contact they have with Healthwatch, so a key aspect of this role will be to promote the organisation by explaining its work and the ways of being involved in this.

Main focus of post:

  • Develop and lead Healthwatch Liverpool’s volunteer and involvement activity
  • Recruit, train and support volunteers, involving them in a range of Healthwatch Liverpool activities
  • Engage with local communities, to promote our work and encourage people to be involved

Liverpool Care Matters Engagement Officer

Salary: £22,730 per annum
Hours: 35 hours a week, including occasional evening and weekend work

Liverpool Care Matters is Healthwatch Liverpool’s new public forum to listen to people’s experiences and to share them with those with the power to make change happen. For many people you will be the first contact they have with Healthwatch so a key aspect of this role will be to promote the organisation by explaining our work and the ways of being involved in this.

Main focus of post:

  • Encourage members of the public to engage in conversations about social care and health services in Liverpool enabling their voices to inform the design, review and delivery of such services
  • Gather the views and experiences of people who use social care and health services through planning and delivering a programme of outreach and engagement activities
  • Work with other members of the Healthwatch Liverpool team to use this feedback to improve social care and health services in Liverpool
  • Promote Healthwatch Liverpool by explaining the work and the ways of being involved in this to members of the public and other stakeholders

Healthwatch Complaints Advocate

Salary: £11,365 per annum (£22,730 full time equivalent)
Hours: 17.5 hours a week
Contract: Fixed-term until 31 March 2020, reviewed subject to continued funding

Healthwatch Liverpool provides the NHS Complaints advocacy service for Liverpool residents and seeks an additional advocate to expand this work. The main focus of the post is to provide independent advocacy support to people who live in Liverpool to raise concerns and complaints about their NHS care or treatment.

You will promote self-advocacy and empowerment to enable clients to understand the choices open to them at every stage of the complaints process, make informed decisions and get their views heard. This will be through one to one advocacy and other forms of advocacy as required. This activity will include working with people of all ages, including those with learning disabilities, people with mental health needs, people with physical and sensory impairment.

The post holder must hold the National Independent Advocacy Qualification. If you do not have your NIA qualification, there is an expectation that you will obtain it in the first 6 months of employment.

Information and Project Officer – Enquiry Focused

Salary: £22,730 per annum
Hours: 35 hours a week
Contract: Fixed-term until 31 March 2020, reviewed subject to continued funding

For many people, you will be the first contact they have with Healthwatch, so a key aspect of this role will be to promote the organisation by explaining its work and the ways of being involved in this. The work is constantly evolving so the ability to adapt and pick-up new skills and approaches is essential.

The main focus of this post is to provide information and signposting to people, helping them get the most out of health and social care services in Liverpool, and to gain the views of the public in relation to their health and social care experiences.
