Term: Maternity cover – up to 12 months.
Hours: 21 hours per week.
Salary: £10.86 per hour/£11,859.12 per annum.
Location: St Vincent’s School, Liverpool / Flexible Working.

Henshaws is a northern charity supporting people living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities to go beyond expectations. They are currently looking to recruit a Children and Young People (CYP) Enablement Officer to work as part of their children and young people team.

This is a unique opportunity to work with partially sighted and blind children and young people, helping them to become more independent. Your role will be to support CYP through the programme providing activities around building confidence and self-esteem, social and interpersonal skills, daily living skills, cooking and transitions and planning for the future, all while having fun, making friends and trying new things.

The role will involve the assessment of CYP needs and goal setting prior to the course as well as monitoring progress throughout and at the end of the course. You will also be responsible for delivering a one day workshop for parents to attend at the beginning of each course to give them the skills and knowledge to help support their child to be more independent at home and in the community.
