Home-Start Knowsley recruits and trains volunteers to support families in their own homes.
Due to the success of Dad Matters programme across Greater Manchester, they are working in partnership with Home-Start Knowsley to develop the work further in the Cheshire and Merseyside areas.
They are looking for a Dad Matters Co-ordinator to join their team and develop local, universal and targeted interventions for dads in the perinatal period. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues from the Maternal Mental Health Service (Silver birch Hubs) and with colleagues from Perinatal Mental Health Services, Parent Infant Mental Health Services, Maternity, Health Visiting, Children’s Services and other NHS and VCSE services and with a wide range of dads and dads-to-be.
They will develop their Dad Matters volunteering opportunities in both areas, they will facilitate and co-facilitate sessions with dads and will develop links with other VCSE and community groups.
An understanding of the risks of developing poor mental health in the perinatal period for dads and of the impact of supporting a partner with perinatal mental health issues is essential, as is a flexible approach to work and the ability to travel across Cheshire and Merseyside.
