Imagine Independence is recruiting Support Workers for its services in Sefton. These are delivered in the community into people’s own homes. The Support Worker’s role is to help the people using the service live with meaning, as independently as possible, so they can access the full range of services and resources in their local area.
You will also help to promote the health and wellbeing of those you support. This will include making sure people access the health services they need; have as healthy a diet as possible; and live in a home environment that supports their wellbeing. It is an interesting and rewarding role, where no two days are ever the same. This service needs people committed to delivering high quality, person centred support.
You may have experience of working with people with mental health issues and/or learning disabilities. Imagine looks for people with the right values and approach to their work. If you have an NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, or its equivalent; are able to use IT; and are happy to travel between people’s homes, then this could be the role for you.
A good communicator, who can build valued relationships with others, you will be able to use your judgement and common sense to get the best possible results for each person you support. Your focus will always be on the person you are supporting, promoting their dignity, and ensuring the highest standards of confidentiality are maintained.
