Imagine Independence – Volunteer Peer Mentors

This is a voluntary role.

Posts available: 20.
Hours per week: 1 – 2 hours.
Days per week: Flexible.
Reporting to: Steven Jackson, Peer Mentor Coordinator.
Location: Liverpool.

Imagine Independence is a charity dedicated to helping people with mental and physical health issues live their lives as independently as possible. They believe helping people to cope independently is the best way to build self-esteem and enable them to live more fulfilled and productive lives. Working across the North West of England and London, they provide personalised support to approximately 2,000 people a year struggling with a wide range of issues – including multiple health issues, drug and alcohol issues as well as ex-offenders. They work with people who have experienced mental health issues, to encourage them to re-engage with their local community and all it has to offer.

Imagine Independence is currently looking for Volunteer Peer Mentors. Do you enjoy going out for a coffee, going to the gym, or joining in community activities? Do you feel you have a skill that you could share with others e.g. art, I.T.?

If so, you would be ideal to support people to regain their confidence and learn new skills such as the use of digital technology! You can make a real difference, helping people to overcome barriers and make positive lasting changes to their lives.
