LCVS is proud to have supported community organisations to secure over £5m in the last 12 months. This exceeds our previous record, achieved in 2018, by £1.7m.
The range of funding sources continues to grow, with funding being secured from public sector, trust and foundations, Lottery funding, private donations and social investment.
Richard Davies, capacity building team leader, said, “With public spending cuts continuing to bite, the need to help community organisations secure funding for their work has never been greater. With that in mind, LCVS has worked tirelessly to help groups identify sources of funding, shape their project ideas to make them funding ready, set in place the systems they need to manage their projects and make their best case to funders.
“In the last 12 months we’ve been particularly pleased to see how the sector has adapted to the new reality of reduced statutory funding, by looking at new and innovative ways to generate income, including social investment.”
LCVS offers a range of fundraising support services, including: identifying funders, application/bid review, bid writing, income generation strategy support, training and one-to-one advice.
Sharon Williams, project manager at Netherley Youth & Community Initiative, said, “LCVS is an amazing organisation, dedicated, reliable and always there in our hours of need. In the last year alone they obtained just over £100,000 to help us become sustainable for the next three years and continue to offer our daily, quality care for local families coping with hardship. They are absolutely fantastic in what they do and always offer a helping hand for local grass-roots voluntary organisations like ourselves. A huge big thank you for believing in us! great and remarkable team.”
