An exciting philanthropic opportunity has arisen for a financially savvy individual to join our board of trustees in the position of treasurer.

We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference and support us in collectively steering this amazing charity to the next phase of its future. It is crucial that you are aligned to and willing to adopt Nolan’s seven principles of public life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership. In return you will gain a wealth of experience including strategic planning, decision making, budget control and not forgetting working alongside a great team.

About Kelton

Kelton Nursery and After School is a unique not-for-profit nursery, funded and run by parents. It provides high quality care for children from 6 weeks to 11 years, 51 weeks a year. At Kelton we value all children as individuals and are committed to helping them fulfil their potential in a safe, caring and stimulating environment where each child feels happy and secure.

Role

As a trustee you will:

join the existing trustees to support the chair in delivering the charity’s vision

in addition to normal governance roles and responsibilities, use your proven financial management skills to maintain an overview of the organisation’s affairs, ensuring its financial viability and ensuring that proper financial records and procedures are maintained

as a worthy team player, possess sound negotiation skills and a ‘can do’ attitude

above all, be committed to dedicating the required time and energy to steer this worthwhile charity to the next phase in its future

Tenure for trustee positions is a minimum of three years, extendable by election for a further three years at a time.

You will serve on the Main Committee and on the Budget & Audit Committee. You will be required to attend a minimum of 8 meetings a year for 2/3 hours.
