Kindred Minds was established in 2012 and was born out of a need to provide a safe place where people with poor mental health could meet to offer each other support. In May 2015, they became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and in April 2020 they commenced their 5-year funding through the National Lottery Community Fund.

They are currently looking for a Programme Manager.

Are you looking for an exciting and flexible opportunity to help support the growth of a small mental health charity? Kindred Minds is a peer-led mental health support charity, providing activities to help assist people in their mental health wellness. In April 2020, they began their 5-year activity programme following funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. In that time, they have seen their service users increase as the need for mental health support has grown post-covid and they expect this to continue to increase.

They are a small, independent local charity. This highly rewarding role involves working closely with trustees, service users and a small core team of sessional workers, including their volunteer and activity co-ordinator and various tutors, e.g. yoga, tai chi, etc and professional advisors. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day programme delivery and development, including evaluation and monitoring, small funding bids, finance reporting and health & safety. Strategic support is provided to the charity by Denise Bernard from Momentum Expedite Consultancy Ltd.

This is a self-employed role, but insured by Kindred Minds. The core funding is 14 hours per week, however, due to an additional project, the hours are 18 hours per week until 31 December 2022. The role is flexible, with the ability to work hours of your choosing so long as average hours are worked per week. Due to the nature of the work, this is site-based in their office in Lee Valley Millenium Centre, L25 2PR.

There are no specific qualifications required, but evidence of relevant training and professional development to the role is desirable.

To give you a flavour of their work, please find them on the Charity Commission website to read their annual reports.
