Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre Vacancy: Sessional Community Worker

Salary: £15 per hour

Hours: 15 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Contract: 26 weeks

The overall objective of the post is to work with residents, community groups and key partners to support communities of interest, identity, geography and faith in the Liverpool 8 area in order to enable them to feel empowered and influence decisions and services on issues that affect their lives. Where appropriate, they will support local people to deliver their own projects, and develop action plans that will identify key actions.

Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre has always worked with the local community, championing its needs, sharing in its successes, assisting in the promotion of the diverse communities contribution, impact and history in the City as well as acting as a support venue in times of trouble. The centre has operated successfully for over twelve years.

The Centre’s L8 A Better Place project will blend the original aims of the organisation with the communities input into issues they feel necessary to focus on in a building that was built by the community for the community.  The project is a community programme focused on poverty, social exclusion, health & emotional well-being.
