LCVS – Funding Advisor

Location: Liverpool
Salary: £31,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time (35 hours per week), permanent

Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS) is at the heart of supporting the city’s vibrant community organisations. As we continue to help grow and strengthen the voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Funding Advisor to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a variety of organisations, providing expert guidance and support to help them secure vital funding.

 

About the Role

As the Funding Advisor, you will:

  • Provide advice, training, and consultancy to VCFSE organisations on securing funding from a range of sources, including public and charitable funds.
  • Assist organisations in developing high-quality funding applications and tenders.
  • Build and sustain relationships with key funding agencies and other partners to ensure organisations can access the resources they need.
  • Lead and deliver workshops and training sessions on fundraising and funding strategies.
  • Research funding opportunities, respond to enquiries, and assist in the creation of funding strategies for community groups.
  • Represent VCFSE organisations and advocate for them in securing additional funding.
  • Monitor and record the progress of work to meet the requirements of funding bodies.

 

About You

We are looking for a Funding Advisor who brings:

  • A degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of funding sources available to VCFSE organisations, including statutory, charitable, and private sector funding.
  • Proven experience in writing successful funding bids and tenders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to break down complex funding information into accessible advice.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload efficiently.
  • A commitment to equal opportunities and the values of the voluntary sector.
  • Experience in delivering training and facilitating workshops.
  • The ability to develop strong relationships with funding bodies and other agencies.
  • A flexible, self-motivated approach, with a passion for supporting community organisations.
