LCVS Launches 2018 Training and Events Programme

Our Training and Events Programme 2018 is now available for download.

2017 was a great year for LCVS training. We successfully delivered over 45 training events to over 270 local organisations, covering subjects such as fundraising, legal compliance and planning. Feedback from those attending our courses was also very positive, as you can see from the examples dotted around this brochure.

In 2016/17, LCVS directly contributed to local organisations generating over £1.5m in grants, and training remains a vital part of how we help local organisations to support the communities they serve.

Building on the success of our last programme and responding to participant feedback, we have reviewed our training programme and have introduced over 15 new training courses. New courses include: Consulting Your Community, How to Run Staff Recruitment, Getting the Best from Your Board and Managing Your Governing Document. These are all vital areas which, when done properly, ensure your organisation is run well.

Potentially the most exciting new aspect of our programme is the expansion of our Funding Masterclass programme. Following on the success of our BIG Lottery Reaching Communities Masterclass, we have developed, in partnership with funders, six funder specific courses, to help you target and secure funding from different funders. These funders include Garfield Weston Foundation, Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, Arts Council and Children in Need. Each course is specifically designed to help maximise your chances of securing a support from that funder. With funders contributing to the courses directly, you can get the most up-to-date guidance to help you with your bid.

We hope that there is a course or event here that interests you in your work. If there is something you would like to see that is not available, do let us know. We also offer in-house training for those who would like that personal touch!

We look forward to seeing you at our training very soon!
