LCVS – Senior Accountant

Salary: £35,000.
Contract: Full Time / Permanent.
Location: Liverpool (hybrid).

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join us (Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services [LCVS]), the organisation that positively impacts the voluntary sector across the city of Liverpool!

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Resources, the role will focus on supporting and delivering general accountancy services and business advice to diverse community accountancy clients, particularly at board level. Duties will include:

  • Leading, managing, and developing all aspects of the community accountancy function with an emphasis on the quality of accounts preparation, review of independent examination files and advice / support on matters of taxation as they affect community accountancy clients
  • Scheduling the work of the community accountancy team and preparing accounts and undertaking independent examination fieldwork for charities and other organizations
  • Delivering training, assisting with the strategic development of the community accountancy service, and maintaining and developing the quality of control procedures and processes in the service

The Person

To be considered for this role, you must hold a recognised professional qualification (CCAB) or equivalent and have maintained CPD requirements for qualification. You should have a proven record of production of budgets, management accounts, financial reports and forecasting and ideally have an understanding and practical experience of the current requirements of charity accounting and law (although this is not a necessity). We need someone who is committed to the values and work of voluntary and community organisations and someone who will lead and manage their team with integrity, tact, creativity, and confidence.
