Support is called for the School Attendance Charter, launched by the Chamber of Commerce with Mayor Joe Anderson in March 2017.
Elaine Rees, CEO Liverpool Learning Partnership, is encouraging organisations to endorse this work by signing the Liverpool Attendance Charter and positioning it prominently within organisations.
Elaine Rees said: “School attendance does affect us all: either as parents or in the world of work. We want apprentices and employees who value their position, attend faithfully and on time!
“We need to harness the support of you all as well as others including health colleagues, the police and our arts and culture partners as we drive this agenda forward. Together we can make a difference. Our strap line: Every Day in School Counts is true. We have evidence to back up the statement that children who miss school regularly do significantly worse than their peers.”
