Liverpool City Region Cultural Integration Small Grants

Small grants are available for projects or initiatives that work to support the cultural integration of Syrian Refugees resettling in Liverpool City Region. Projects must work with groups of Syrian Refugees around health, education, employment, finance and budgeting, English Practice and law and culture in the UK. Activity should be held at a community level in St Helens, Wirral, and Liverpool City. A maximum of £5,000 is available in each area to fund any project that aims to deliver the above.

A creative approach that places the needs of refugees at its heart is essential. Applicants should be clear around what role and support they would need from Refugee Action in project delivery and should seek to embed a wide range of different local charities, community organisations or initiatives in their delivery of the group programme.

Your proposal should be no longer than 4 sides of A4. Unfortunately hand written proposals cannot be accepted. Your proposal should cover:

  • What you plan to do?
  • How you plan to do it, including timeframes
  • What resources you need?
  • What outcomes you intend to achieve with refugees and why, including your milestones and any evidence or understanding of the client group that you have gained through your experience with them
  • How you will know whether you have achieved them?

Email your submission form to rhiannonk@refugee-action.org.uk.

Deadline: Friday 15 September 2017, 5pm

Final decisions will be made through a panel of representatives from across the scope of the service, this will include representation from within the client group. Successful applicants will be asked how they intend to evidence their outcomes – this will form part of the report back to the lead officers.

Refugee Action will also ask all successful applicants to evidence their safeguarding policies and procedures, you will also need to have any relevant insurances in place and DBS checks.
