Liverpool Community Advice – Debt Advice Caseworker

Contract: 6 months fixed term.
Term: Part-Time.
Salary: £28,785 per annum pro rata – actual salary £14,804.
Hours per week: 18 hours.
Reporting to: Chief Executive.
Location: Kensington Fields Community Association, 24 Hall Lane, Liverpool, L7 8TQ and Liverpool Community Advice, 1st Floor, 151 Dale Street, Liverpool, L2 2JH.

Liverpool Community Advice provides free, independent and confidential advice and representation to the public on a range of legal and social welfare issues. They hold both the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and the Specialist Quality Mark (SQM). They hold a 2018 Face-to-Face Civil Contract for Housing and a Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme contract. Their specialist caseworkers regularly advise clients on a range of legal issues e.g. defending possession proceedings and suspending eviction warrants, anti-social behaviour and complex disrepair. They also provide a specialist welfare rights service up to and including representation at First-tier Tribunal.

An opportunity has arisen for a Debt Advice Caseworker to join their project, funded by the United Utilities Trust Fund. This targeted project is a partnership between Liverpool Community Advice (LCA) and Kensington Fields Community Association (KFCA). This project is not funded by the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS). The project will provide debt advice to residents of Central and Kensington & Fairfield wards. You should have the relevant IMA accreditation, knowledge and experience in providing debt advice and the ability to deal with a complex range of money advice issues.
