Liverpool Domestic Abuse Service (LDAS) – Engagement and Recovery Coordinator (Domestic Abuse Support Service)

Salary: 27,000.
Hours per week: 37.5 hours.
Days per week: Monday – Friday.
Reporting to: LDAS line manager.
Location: Liverpool – L7.

Liverpool Domestic Abuse Service (LDAS) is a charity committed to ending Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). They work tirelessly to educate, challenge, and improve response to women girls who have experienced domestic abuse and to ensure survivors of abuse can access specialist support and advocacy as and when they need it. They support women and girls via 1-1 support, counselling, group support and advocacy. They provide options to women and girls and support them to make choices about their lives. They work to reduce risk and improve wellbeing.

LDAS is looking for a resourceful individual who will provide coordination and leadership to the counselling, group programme delivery and our survivor engagement. With an understanding of trauma led support, the successful candidate will maximise this high demand area of support need making life-altering interventions to survivors enabling them to make sense of their abuse with the aim of living a healthier and safer life free from abuse.

The successful candidate will engage and support volunteers and survivors, enabling them to fulfil their capability using skills and life experience to enhance LDAS and what they deliver which is support to highest attainable standard and work that empowers women to reach their full potential.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2-year experience of supporting survivors of domestic abuse and hold the relevant qualification including Independent domestic abuse advisor (IDVA) or similar qualification. They will also have experience of delivering group-based recovery programmes.

The suitable candidate will need to be IT literate and able to use Microsoft Office, be able to complete monitoring and produce reports. They will be a confident public speaker and be skilled in the different forms of group engagement including PowerPoint.

A sound understanding of barriers to engagement and role gender holds in the perpetuation of violence against women and girls is essential.
