Liverpool enters tier-3: a message from Liverpool City Council

The following statement was issued by Tony Reeves, chief executive, Liverpool City Council, on Wednesday 14 October 2020:

Liverpool has now entered tier-3 of the new coronavirus restrictions.

They are the toughest rules in the country, because we face some of the highest infection rates in the country.

More than 3,000 new cases have been confirmed over the past week.

We have 250 people in hospital with COVID-19.

It is a very serious situation.

The only way out of it is by working together to reduce the spread.

City leaders have come together with a strong message for us all:

It is vital that as a city we respond to the message and work together to keep our residents safe. We would be grateful if you could share this widely across your communications channels and networks.

Regards

Tony Reeves, chief executive, Liverpool City Council
