Liverpool Quaker Meeting House Vacancies


Pay rate: £8.25 per hour

Hours: 7-9am Monday to Friday

The modern, purpose built Meeting House is admired by many room hire customers for its’ pleasant atmosphere. This is a vital role in a small team committed to maintaining high standards.

Duties include cleaning according to assigned list, reporting any maintenance issues, setting up rooms. Applicants need to have experience as a cleaner, two good references from previous employers and be physically fit.

Meeting House Assistant

Pay rate: £8.25 per hour

Hours: Evenings, 6-10pm, weekends 9am-5pm

This is a zero hours contract operated by mutual agreement.  Shifts to be covered are circulated to Meeting House Assistants at the beginning of the month and are allocated according to availability.

Key tasks include:

  • Preparing rooms for customers and clearing rooms at end of session time
  • Cleaning café area and rooms as required
  • Informing facilitators about fire procedures
  • Greeting customers and directing them to their rooms
  • Ensuring groups have all required for their meetings
  • Reception duties including answering the phone and taking messages and bookings
  • using procedures outlined in Meeting House Assistant Manual
  • Supporting contracted staff to manage health and safety and security of the building, staff and users

Applicants must have reasonable availability (able to undertake minimum of 8 shifts per month) be able to manage physical aspects of the job and have a pleasant manner which upholds Quaker values of peace and equality.

Two references are required at least one of which should be from a recent employer.

Both roles are subject to a probationary period and are subject to a trial shift. Successful applicants will be paid for this shift once employed and on pay roll.
