Liverpool Spirit Appeal raises over £137k

After the terrible incident that took place on Water Street during the Liverpool FC Parade on 26 May 2025, the Community Foundation for Merseyside in partnership with Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Charity & Voluntary Services (LCVS) launched the Liverpool Spirit Appeal to help those most affected.

We can now report that the fundraiser has now raised £137,082 from 1036 supporters as of Monday 23 June 2025.

LCVS would like to thank everyone for their generosity in donating to help those affected.

Here are some lovely messages from supporters:

One supporter said:

“One city ❤️ sending thoughts and love to everyone involved. My city, my people, my heart!”

Another supporter said:

“Because Liverpool people welcome, care for and support everyone. So proud of my home city. YNWA “

Another supporter added:

“Our thoughts are with all those affected by this incident. YNWA “

How will the fund help?

The money donated to this appeal in the first instance will prioritise those individuals identified by emergency response services as individuals experiencing physical and/or any subsequent psychological injury who were directly impacted by the events on 26 May 2025, requiring hospital/medical treatment.

LCVS is also currently exploring aligning the priorities of our future grant funding programmes towards organisations who are providing support in areas including emotional wellbeing and mental health, recognising the needs for those who may need support after such a traumatic incident
