Established since 1974, Local Solutions is a charity whose mission is to improve people’s lives. We deliver a range of services that assist vulnerable groups across the Liverpool City Region and North Wales. We provide adult social care and support services that assist young homeless people, individuals & families affected by domestic abuse, children affected by bullying, people in poverty, young people at risk and unpaid carers.
We are seeking to recruit two committed, talented and energetic people to serve on our board of trustees. Having reviewed the skills of our current board, we are particularly interested in receiving applications from individuals with strong skills and professional experience in the following areas:
• HR related knowledge and expertise
• Business development / marketing skills
• Sector knowledge in our areas of operation
We particularly welcome applications from people with disabilities and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates.
The board plays a key role in the development and governance of the charity. As well as six board meetings a year, trustees all serve on board committees which meet more regularly and who provide detailed governance on behalf of the entire board. Trustees will also be invited to attend events throughout the year, such as Local Solutions’ Long Service Awards, launches of new initiatives and Carer of the Year events.
Trustees play an important role and in joining our board you will be playing a key part in supporting our charity to continue to improve the lives of thousands of vulnerable people in our communities who need our services. The role will open up professional networking opportunities as well as help to build and strengthen relations with key leaders who are associated with our organisation. Trustees will find the breadth and scope of our work of interest and will be able to develop their skills and strategic experience.
