Local Solutions is a leading North West social enterprise and charity that aims to improve the quality of life for individuals and communities through a diverse and unique portfolio of services.

Local Solutions is looking to recruit a self-motivated individual to work within the expanded Domestic Abuse Services that will provide support to victims of Domestic Abuse (DA) who meet the Early Help threshold. This is an exciting and innovative new project with the aim of supporting families within a multi-agency structure to minimise the impact of DA on children and families, providing victim focused work. The ideal candidates will have significant experience of working directly with victims of DA and their families.  They will have a working knowledge of criminal/civil justice systems along with an excellent understanding of child/adult safeguarding processes and legislation.

Domestic Abuse Worker (DAW) – Early Help Service for those affected by Domestic Abuse

2 full-time DAW posts
Salary: £21,930

1 part-time DAW post
Salary: £10,969
Hours: 20 hours per week

The ideal candidates should be able to demonstrate ability to manage a caseload, develop/deliver interventions designed to meet identified needs/goals, and deliver 1:1/group based sessions using the relevant skills based approach. An in-depth knowledge of DA along with strong advocacy skills are essential. You will have an accredited qualification and must demonstrate in depth knowledge of factors surrounding domestic abuse including risk reduction and safety planning.

The suitable applicant must be available to work some unsociable hours.

Coordinator – Early Help Service for those affected by Domestic Abuse  

Salary: £26.000 per annum
Hours: Full time

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate your ability to coordinate staff, conduct reviews, as well as implementing relevant policies and procedures. Previous experience of directly supporting vulnerable adults on 1:1 and in group-based support is essential, as is a thorough understanding of the dynamics of Domestic Abuse. You will have an accredited qualification and must demonstrate in depth knowledge of factors surrounding domestic abuse specifically around risk reduction and safety planning.

 

Enhanced DBS Disclosure is essential for all posts. All applicants must also have a current full driving license and permanent use of a private vehicle.

As part of the interview process, you will need to prepare a short presentation on “The impact of domestic abuse on children and the family”.
