Localgiving Match Funding Campaign Extension

A year ago, Localgiving set up shop in the North West, aiming to support groups running environmental projects by providing them with the means to raise funds online, as well as up to £500 per group in match funding.

This programme has now been extended by funders the People’s Postcode Lottery, for an additional three months, to end on 20 June 2017. There are 8 spaces available for groups who would still like to take part in the programme.

62 groups so far have claimed their free memberships and are online, and over 75% of them have currently received one-time donations through their Localgiving pages. Between them, they’ve managed to raise a fantastic £52,588 which has attracted £15,251 in match funding from Localgiving and a further £4,020 in Gift Aid, making a grand total of £71,859, or an average of £1,160 per group.

Groups have been helped to have as broad a range of fundraising options as possible, and over the course of the programme, 18 groups have raised funds through direct debits and monthly donations, and ten groups ran appeals and had fundraisers taking part in challenges on their behalf.

If you’d like further information or would like to take part in the programme, go online or contact Joe Burns at Localgiving at joe@localgiving.org. Additionally, if you know of any funders who might be interested in supporting similar initiatives in the region once this programme ends, get in touch with Joe.
