Mencap Vacancies – Outreach Co-ordinator and Activities Co-ordinator

Outreach Co-ordinator

You will be the first point of contact for individuals who may be lonely and socially isolated. You’ll work with them to build trust and to identify problems which they want our help to resolve. You’ll connect them to organisations, activities and individuals, helping them to make friends and try new things.

You will build relationships with a range of local public and voluntary sector agencies to ensure that people know who we are, what we do and how to refer people to us.

You will work closely with your colleagues in Liverpool and Sefton to ensure that our work is holistic, person-centred and constantly strengthened by the voice of our beneficiaries.

Term: Initially a Fixed Term contract offered until January 2021

Based: from Mencap Cottage House, Crosby (with some time spent at the Mencap Liverpool office, Liverpool City Centre)

Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week, to include Tuesday mornings

Salary: £18,000-19,200 (equivalent to £22,500-24,000 FT)

Responsible for: Social Work Students on full-time placement/ Clinical Psychology Doctorate students on part-time placement

Activities Co-ordinator

You will be developing and running a programme of activities for the people whom the Outreach Co-ordinator is meeting. The activities will help people meet new friends and discover new hobbies and opportunities, building their confidence and broadening their horizons.

The activities will be based from Mencap Cottage House, but you’ll also be working with other local community groups to connect our beneficiaries with their opportunities too.

Term: Initially a Fixed Term contract offered until January 2021

Based: from Mencap Cottage House, Crosby (with some time spent at the Mencap Liverpool office, Liverpool City Centre)

Hours: Part-time, 15 hours per week, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Salary: £9-11.33 per hour (depending on the skills and experience you bring to the role)

Responsible for: Volunteers (some of whom may have a learning disability)
